Having qualified as a Pharmacist and then worked in media recruitment for 4yrs, Jo decided to take the plunge and set up The Media Exchange way back in 1993.She still gets excited when talking about the thrill of setting up the business then and how The Media Exchange has gone on to become a hugely successful business in the sector since.

Jo is incredibly proud of how the company has evolved to meet the needs of the rapidly changing media world and the fact that most of the original clients who supported the launch of The Media Exchange, still work with the business today, not to speak of the fabulous team of  consultants who work incredibly hard on behalf of their clients and candidates. There is no question that Jo’s memory; – she never forgets a name or face – wide network of contacts and drive to provide a professional service, have enabled The Media Exchange to forge an enviable reputation in the business.

As a recent empty nester (both kids at Uni), Jo is rediscovering the joys of spontaneous trips to the theatre, cinema and restaurants – the latter being the most important as she is a horrendous cook!

Peter Desmond

Having survived in the rather dry financial recruitment sector for several years, it was something of a revelation to Peter to move over to the world of media, working with Jo to set up The Media Exchange. In fact, Peter, is still incredibly excited when we are working with a senior manager in the business, who he placed as a graduate trainee and has had a meteoric rise to fame! Believe me, there are lots of you out there!! (you know who you are!)

More importantly, Peter has overseen the tech development of the business from one computer and a fax machine in 1993, to an integrated database and up to the minute web site we have today – lots of sweating and brow beating along the way! He is also responsible for chasing all our invoices – so probably the most important person here.

An Aston Villa fan (what a nightmare), keen foodie and cinema fan all seem quite tame but woe betide you if you play Trivial pursuit – competitive just doesn’t do it!!

Nick Cundy

Nick began his career at The Media Exchange in 2003, as a fresh faced Trainee Recruitment Consultant, he has now progressed up through the ranks to Sales Director, looking less fresh faced, but still loving every minute of what he does! The experience he has gained along this journey has been invaluable, as it has given him the skills to develop strong relationships with candidates and clients of all backgrounds and levels – a lot of whom are now close friends!

Nick wanted to work in recruitment because he loves interacting with people, he really enjoys understanding people’s motivations and needs when considering a move and ultimately helping them to fulfil these.

Outside of work you will find Nick walking his dog Branston, spending time with friends or travelling to far off distant places.

Hannah Marchant

Hannah joined The Media Exchange after a year of fun at Haymarket selling classified and display advertising. Moving into recruitment at The Media Exchange seemed like a  natural progression and she loved it from day one! She has progressed through from Recruitment Consultant to Senior Sales Manager, and the time has really flown by!

She absolutely loves working in Media Recruitment and she finds matching people up with their dream job a lovely feeling. For Hannah, it is really important to build long lasting relationships with both clients and candidates, building trust with them both. She always likes to think outside the box and make recruitment fun and stress free!  She is the heart and soul of The Media Exchange, constantly motivating the team and singing along in the office along while organising the team for drinks!

In Hannah’s personal life she loves spending time with her gorgeous nephew and niece! Trying out new restaurants and bars is where you tend to find her over the weekend with friends and family.  Loves going on holidays where she can sun herself all day long, drink lots of wine and consume lots of exotic food! 

Greg Brown

After working in Insurance and then Public Sector recruitment, Greg found his calling in the media recruitment space. After starting at The Media Exchange as a Junior consultant Greg quickly worked his way up to Senior Consultant and then Sales Manager. Now 8 years in, he has developed long lasting relationships with key clients across different Sectors as well as having built a strong candidate pipeline at both junior and senior level.

Greg is passionate about really understanding both his client’s/candidates needs and being able to think outside the box to offer the best solutions and deliver results.

When he’s not at 33 Broadwick Street, Greg can be found on the football pitch at West Wickham FC or in the stands at Selhurst Park, watching his beloved Crystal Palace. A keen all round sportsman, Greg has previously run the London Marathon and plans on running it again in the near future.

Emma Jardine

Emma has been with The Media Exchange for coming up to seven years already – time flies when you’re having fun! She decided to combine her professional career with one of her interests, the media industry, which began during her TV and media degree, followed by a three month paid internship at OMD International.

Emma has loved working for The Media Exchange, due to the family culture, and feels their more consultative approach and industry knowledge sets them apart from their competitors.

She is committed and passionate about finding candidates the right job, or talented staff for her clients’ business. She prides herself in being a good listener and really does find it gratifying finding candidates their dream job, and clients that superstar candidate!

When not in the office, you may find Emma at either a rooftop bar, shopping for things she doesn’t need, eating out, or travelling to exciting new destinations! Sounds like the dream…

Lottie Fitzgerald

Lottie joined the Media Exchange after ending her career in aviation and wanting to start an exciting new venture with her feet remaining on the ground. Having studied Media at 6^th form and thoroughly enjoying building relationships with people, a role at The Media Exchange seemed like the perfect match and she wasn’t wrong!

Outside of work you will find Lottie hunting down the next best Asian fusion restaurant or relaxing in a sauna and steam room. Passionate about travelling and exploring new cultures, especially if catching a tan is involved.

Jack Street

Jack joined the Media Exchange after working in media to provide young people with opportunities to work on the creative side of the industry. Passionate about all things media and helping people to find them their dream opportunity, working at the Media Exchange was the perfect fit!

Outside of work, Jack is a West Ham season ticket holder and can be found singing his heart out at the London Stadium, in the gym or bouldering. A lover of the outdoors, Jack often spends his time camping, hiking and enjoying nature.

Patrick Meadows

Patrick has recently joined the team in May 2022 after working in the property industry for 2 and a half years where he developed his sales and marketing skills which he is now transferring into the recruitment world. Patrick is extremely excited to start this next chapter in recruitment!

Since being with The Media Exchange, Patrick finds a sheer buzz when he matches the right candidate with their dream job, it’s a great feeling that never goes away!

On the weekends, you can find Patrick either socialising out with friends, playing cricket during the summer months, or watching his beloved Chelsea FC at Stamford Bridge.

Sam Steer

Having previously worked as a makeup artist and within the property industry Sam wanted to transfer her sales and people skills into a new exciting adventure. Since starting at The Media Exchange, Sam has loved the buzz of recruitment.

Outside of work you will find Sam getting glam for a night out with friends, at music festivals, eating food or going on the occasional run.
